With over 37 years in the fashion industry, our thoughtful garments have been created with a focus on self expression and freedom. Women in L&B feel empowered and courageous in their own skin. Because what you focus on, you become. We are constantly finding ways to give back to our community, because together, we are stronger. L&B donates 1% of each sale to help women in need, as an aim to empower them to regain confidence and freedom.

Where it began
I started working as a junior hand-finisher in a well known Brisbane Bridal Company “Gardams” in 1985, from there I elevated my skill to be able to sew complete garments. I went to work in a workroom of a well known Gold Coast fashion label (Official) in the late 80’s to early 90’s.
Into fashion labels
After having my first child, I discovered the world of being able to do contract work from home. It was during this period of my life that I did a 3 month stint with a big fashion label in Brisbane “Lee Bird Designs”. It was here that I discovered made-to-measure and that I was really good at fitting and understanding a woman's body, about lines, balance, fit and design.
Starting a business
In 1999 I started my own business doing made-to-measure clothing and alterations. I worked very closely with the fabric stores, as they would send their customers to me, particularly “Alla Moda” (I still have that relationship with them). I got a business partner, moved into a studio and created a new label “Dame Couture” in 2005 and did this until the end of 2006.
In studio
In 2010 I went to work for Gina at Gina Savaris Dressmaking and I did this part-time until October 2018 when Gina retired and sold the business to me. It will be 4 years this October since I have owned the business and the number of clients who have made to measure has increased substantially during that time.
